Setup Instructions

First Time Setup

  1. Ensure PostgreSQL with PostGIS is installed and running
  2. Install required tools: sudo /var/www/sps/osm-data/install-osm-tools.sh
  3. Choose a region above (start with California for testing)
  4. Wait for download, import, and tile generation to complete
  5. Once complete, visit the GPS page to use offline maps

Disk Space Requirements

  • California: ~21 GB (2-4 hours)
  • Texas: ~25 GB (3-5 hours)
  • Full US: ~106 GB (8-12 hours)
  • Full Planet: ~684 GB (24-72 hours)
